The Summer School EMERGE is divided in two modules:
Module 1, from 8th to 12th June 2026, which includes:
- 5 days event
- seminars and lectures
- PhD poster session (Poster is mandatory for PhD Student. Info in Overview page)
- social dinner (Day 3)
- best Poster presentation award (Day 3 during social dinner)
- company visit and cultural excursion (Day 4)
- welcome cocktail (Day 1)
- lunches and coffee breaks
- digital proceedings
- final test for the recognition of PhD training credits – 6 ECTS. The test consists of a series of multiple-choice questions on the topic covered in Module 1
Module 2, from 15th to 19th June 2026, which includes:
- 5 days event
- practical experience of useful software
- Company visit and cultural excursion (Day 3)
- coffee breaks
- final test for the recognition of PhD training credits – 6 ECTS. The test consists of an assignment with involves the use of SWs practiced in Module 2
Application
The school has a limited number of places, which varies from year to year and it is usually around 20 seats.
The application process consists of filling out an online form. Selection is made via CV evaluation. Please, be ready to upload your CV in pdf format (Max 10 MB)
Places will be allocated on the basis of candidate assessment. Selection Criteria:
- Be enrolled in or have recently completed a Master’s degree or a PhD in Engineering
- Be engineer working in the field of transportation.
- Applicants will be evaluated not only on academic and technical competencies but also on their eligibility according to MUSE project guidelines. Specifically, at least 21 students must be residents in Emilia-Romagna or be enrolled in a regional university.
